In the heart of Baranja wine region, in the picturesque village of Zmajevac, lies the Zlatno Brdo winery. In the silence of its deeply buried cellars, it crafts authentic wines of exceptional quality. Its philosophy is based on a blend of traditional methods and the latest scientific and technological advancements, ensuring unique flavors and aromas. The cellars of Zlatno Brdo, known as gators, are embedded in the steep slopes of Bansko Brdo. Thanks to their specific architecture and a constant temperature of 12-15 °C, they provide ideal conditions for aging wines. The vineyards above Zmajevac thrive on exceptionally fertile soil, while the proximity of the Danube creates a perfect microclimate for growing high-quality grapes. With an annual production of around 40,000 liters of wine, one of the standout labels is Gold Hill, a red blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, and cabernet franc from 2017. Gold Cuvée, an aromatic semi-dry wine, won a gold medal at the prestigious Decanter World Wine Awards and is considered one of the most original wines of eastern Croatia. Among the premium wines is Pinot Noir 2018, which aged for two years in 500-liter oak barrels, followed by an additional year in the bottle. Zlatno Brdo Graševina 2023 matured for a year in 225-liter acacia barrels and then spent nine months in bottles. In just three years, the winery has won six Decanter medals, affirming the quality of its wines on a global level. At its first appearance in 2022, Zlatno Brdo Graševina 2018 won a bronze medal, while Gold Cuvée scored 96 points, earning a gold medal and becoming the highest-rated Baranja wine in Decanter’s history. In 2023, Zlatno Brdo Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 won bronze, and Graševina 2021 secured silver with 91 points. The latest achievements in 2024 brought two new silver medals—Graševina 2022 (92 points) and Cuvée MV (90 points). The winery carefully selects the perfect moment to release new wines, ensuring their full maturity. In addition to previous vintages of Cabernet Sauvignon from 2015 and 2019, 2024 saw the debut of Zlatno Brdo Cuvée MV, a rich red blend representing the best of the Baranja terroir, and Zlatno Brdo Gold Cuvée 2023, continuing the tradition of award-winning wines from this region.
